Melissa Rebman Hardy

Melissa Rebman Hardy, 55, of New Kent, Va., passed away unexpectedly, after a brief illness, on August 30, 2016.

She was predeceased by her loving husband Marvin Bradford Hardy, Jr.; her parents John and Mary Rebman III; and her oldest brother, John Rebman IV.

She is survived by her children, Alexandra McPherson, Julia Hardy and William Hardy; and her siblings, Chris, Jeff, Mark and Emily Rebman.

Melissa was a well-loved member of a large family that includes a soon-to-be born first grandchild. Melissa’s greatest wish and proudest focus was to be a wife and mother, and she excelled at both. Those left behind will forever feel the void of her physical presence in our lives, but we take comfort knowing Melissa is with her one true love and is at peace.

She was a wonderful sister, adoring mother, and generous friend. She was a nurturer at heart and had a sensitivity toward others’ needs that was put to great use in her work as an aide to the elderly in the last few years of her life. All who have had the privilege of knowing Melissa will sorely miss her lively spirit and patient love.

Private services will be held at Hollywood Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, the family requests that donations to the local SPCA be given in her name.
