Michael Mayes III

Michael M. “Mikey” Mayes III, 17, of Gloucester, passed away unexpectedly on Sunday, Oct. 1, 2023.

Mikey and his brother Jake were an inseparable duo that spent countless hours “under the hood” of vehicles, working together. Mike and his brother were avid hunters and fishermen that enjoyed running their hound dogs.

Mike was preceded in death by his grandparents, Bill Wolfe, and Amy and Mike Mayes.

He is survived by his mother, Amanda Wooten-Mayes (John); father, Michael “Mike” Mayes (Jessica); brothers, Caleb Mayes and Christopher Hitt; maternal grandparents, Belinda Ciejek and Christopher Ciejek (Kim); great-grandparents, John “Stack” and Doris Wooten, Judy Morgan; numerous uncles, cousins, and loads of friends.

The Wooten and Renick families held a joint Celebration of Life for Michael and Jacob Wooten on Tuesday, Oct 10, 1 p.m., at Vincent Funeral Home, 9923 Pocahontas Trail, Providence Forge, VA 23140. Friends and family were received from 11 a.m.-1 p.m., just prior to the service. Burial followed in Williamsburg Memorial Park in Williamsburg, Virginia.
