Nova Brady

Nova Brady departed this life at sunrise on Tuesday, Sept. 14, 2021.

Nova was born on Nov. 19, 1929, in Guntersville, Alabama, as the youngest of four children. Blessed with many talents, interests, and passions, she raised two children, became a pioneering computer programmer, wrote novels and a screen play, was a lifelong musician, a political activist, and loved to play Scrabble with family and friends.

Nova’s work was of great consequence; and her love of family, extended family and friends was priceless. The pandemic took her, but she lives on in our hearts.

Nova was preceded in death by her beloved daughter, Nancy Shallock; the love of her life of 42 years, Emanuel Kramer; and her siblings, Julienne Whittenburg, Edna Moore, and Ray Huckaby.

She is survived by her son, David Ledbetter (Judy); stepdaughters Elene Hunt (Dean) and Nancy Coggins (Jim); grandchildren, Hannah Lichty (Will), Jordan Ledbetter (Caroline), and Lainey Drenth (Drew); great-grandchildren, Marlow, Miles, and Dahlia Lichty; and many step-grandchildren.
