Patricia Fitzgerald Haislip

Patricia Fitzgerald “Mammal” Haislip, 72, of Quinton, passed away December 25, 2016 after a courageous fight against ovarian cancer.

After many rounds of treatment, when the doctor said there was nothing more they could do for her, she refused to give up. Mammal found different doctors with different treatments. She never gave up hope, and she fought hard!

Mammal was preceded in death by a brother, Ronnie Fitzgerald. She is survived by her loving husband of 50 years, Larry Haislip; two daughters, Michelle Champion (Marty) and Stacy Neie (Steve); and her son, Steve Haislip (Debbie). She is also survived by her eight grandchildren; Kennedy, Chase, Blaine and Riley Williams, Sidney and Sheridan Neie, Michael Tash and Donna Joy Estis (Adam); one great-grandchild, Mason Estis; two sisters, Frances Frame (J.C.) and Diane Leonard (Mike); a brother, Joe Fitzgerald (Sara); two “sisses”, Diane Fitzgerald and Connie Haislip; as well as an uncle she was especially close to, Richard Corrada (Diana); and a host of nieces and nephews, that she loved dearly.

Mammal loved cooking, shopping, going to yard sales, and working in her yard and flower beds, but her greatest joy was spending time with her grandchildren and family. Family, to her, was what it is all about! She leaves behind a legacy of family traditions.

A memorial celebration was held on Saturday, Dec. 31, 11 a.m. at Vincent Funeral Home, 9923 Pocahontas Trail, Providence Forge, VA. The family received friends on Friday, Dec. 30, 4-7 p..m. at the funeral home.

In lieu of flowers, memorial donations can be made to the American Cancer Society, P.O. Box 22478, Oklahoma City, OK 73123. Tributes may be posted at www.vincentfh.com.
