Peter James Robinson

Peter James Robinson, 77, of Providence Forge, Virginia, passed away on Monday, Mar. 4, 2019, at Retreat Doctors Hospital, Richmond, Virginia. After months of failing health due to complications of Parkinsonism, he left peacefully with his wife and family by his side.

Pete was born in Yonkers, New York, in 1942. He was able to call many places home due his stint in the Air Force. He lived for extended periods in Washington D.C., Dallas, Texas, Chicago, Illinois, and Leesburg, Virginia, before retiring near family in New Kent County, Virginia.

Known to most as Dad, Grandpa, Poppa, Coach, or Petey, Pete was quick to converse and made friends wherever he went. Heaven help the waitress who drew his table.

Pete was a master of the good-natured ribbing and a granter of silly nicknames. Active in coaching youth sports, he touched the lives of so many in the communities where he resided. He will be missed.

Pete was preceded in death by his parents, Frank and Evelyn; and son, Daryl.

He is survived by his wife, Linda; children, James, Bryan, and Lara; and grandchildren, Floyd, Mikaela, Samuel, Madelyn, Leah, Gillian, and Jackson.

Friends of the family will celebrate Pete’s Life on Saturday, Mar. 16, 2019, 3 p.m. at Brickshire Community Clubhous, 11010 Kentland Trail, Providence Forge, Virginia.

In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the Hospice of Virginia or the Michael J. Fox Foundation.
