Victor Birdsong

Victor Birdsong, 63, passed away on June 12, 2017. He was born on Jan. 19, 1954 to H.J. and Frances Birdsong.

Victor enjoyed neighbors, gardening, cooking, reading, movies, and carpentry. He was a gentle soul who always extended a helping hand. Victor’s lifelong love of wood led to a career in building and carpentry.

Invaluable friends in Victor’s life include George and Alice Duncan, Robert and Fran Thorpe, and David Hicks.

Victor was preceded in death by his parents, H.J. and Frances Birdsong; sister, Pat McGowan; friend, Danny Brooks; his beloved dog, Trapper; and wife, Lorraine Birdsong.

Victor is survived by his brother, Floyd Birdsong of Ashland; and sister, Vera Birdsong-Poske of Ponte Vedra Beach, Florida.

A special acknowledgement goes to Dr. Sarah Gordon and her oncology staff at VCU Medical Center for their compassionate care of Victor.
