Warren Douglas Lampkin

Warren Douglas Lampkin, 86, of Charles City, passed away on June 2, 2018.

He was born July 2, 1932 to the late Milton and Hazel Lampkin. He went on to serve in the U.S. Navy, being stationed in Cuba during the 1950s. Warren was a deputy in Charles City County, serving under his father who was sheriff at the time, and also later worked in the lumber industry. He was an avid outdoorsman and hunter and was well-known for his extensive knowledge on the topics. Warren was a member of Mt. Pleasant Baptist Church.

He was preceded in death by his grandson and hunting buddy, Jonathan Peet.

Warren is survived by his sister, Irene Archuleta; brother, Irvin Lampkin; two daughters, Pamela Lampkin-Webb (Charles) and Sharon Smith (Wayne Murphy); grandchildren, Kristina Williams, Brittani and Brandon Smith; and great-grandchildren, Emily Williams and Kale Smith, who were the reason he smiled.

The family will hold a memorial service on Sunday, June 10, 3 p.m. at Mt. Pleasant Baptist Church, 19300 The Glebe Lane, Charles City, VA 23030. In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to the Mt. Pleasant Baptist Church Youth Fund. Tributes may be posted at www.vincentfh.com.
