William Benjamin Caldwell

William Benjamin “Ben” Caldwell, 63, passed away at home holding the hand of his loving wife after a courageous battle with cancer on July 28, 2020.

Ben was an outdoors-man who enjoyed hunting and fishing. He loved spending time with his friends and family, especially his grandkids.

Ben was preceded in death by his parents, Charles R. Caldwell Jr. and Bernice K. Minter; and a son-in-law, Richard C. Salvatore II.

He is survived by his wife, Denise M. Caldwell; his daughters, Melanie “Nicki” Byrd (Eric) and Elizabeth “Betsy” Salvatore; his sons, Devin Caldwell (Kathen) and Timothy Caldwell (Mindy); three brothers, Charles “Randy” Caldwell III (Angy), Stephen Caldwell (Cheryl), and Wayland Caldwell (Jane); six grandkids, Krysten, Hope, Braden, Adam, Ethan, and William; and many nieces and nephews.

A graveside service was held on Friday, July 31, at Hockaday Family Cemetery on Carriage Road in Providence Forge. A Celebration of Life took place immediately after the service at the family’s home.
