Text amendments pave way for possible construction of data centers in Charles City
A change in text amendments and language through a joint meeting between Charles City’s Planning Commission and Charles City’s Board of Supervisors has paved a way for the possibility of data centers to be created in the county. Supervisors voted 3-0 to add text amendments that would allow the creation of data centers in light industrial, heavy industrial, and planned industrial park district following the Apr. 23 regular board meeting. New Kent’s Lady Trojans’ softball team continued their dominance in the Bay Rivers District, this time behind stellar defense and pitching from Abbie Kegley. The Lady Trojans’ blanked the visiting Bruton Lady Panthers 10-0, sweeping the regular season series. Trojans’ baseball win streak runs to five after shutout of Bruton
Sometimes it takes the harsh truth to get back on track. For New Kent’s Trojans, a message from Head Coach Trevor Ronan seemed to light a fire into their recent win streak. Friday afternoon’s victory over the visiting Bruton Panthers only added kindling to the flame. New Kent posted a 6-0 victory over Bruton, running their consecutive win streak to five in a row. King & Queen wins softball slugfest against Charles City 13-10
Charles City’s Lady Panthers and the King & Queen Lady Tigers engaged in their second slugfest on the softball diamond in the Apr. 24 Tidewater District contest. And in the end, it was the visiting Lady Tigers who emerged on top by a narrow margin.
