Ryan Cannon, a resident of Providence Forge, has been named to the Dean’s List at Southern New Hampshire University for the Summer 2026 semester. To be recognized for the accolade, a student must earn a grade-point average of 3.5 or higher while enrolled full-time.

Charles City High School’s offense struck fast as lightning as they faced off against the visiting Northumberland Indians Friday night. But a lightning delay forced a continuation of the contest into Monday evening, resulting is the Panthers’ spark fading fast. Charles City fell to the visiting Northumberland Indians 41-6 in the non-district affair that covered a two-day span. Maidens man gets year in jail for driving while intoxicated in New Kent
A Maidens man will spend a year in jail for driving while intoxicated in New Kent County. Christopher Tyrone Carroll, 56, of the 2500 block of Fairground Road, entered guilty pleas to an amended charge of misdemeanor DWI-second offense (originally DWI-third offense), misdemeanor driving revoked (DWI related), misdemeanor driving suspended, and misdemeanor driving without an ignition interlock as part of Monday afternoon proceedings in New Kent Circuit Court.
