NK boys 4th, girls 6th in indoor track

New Kent boys finished fourth while the girls placed sixth in the Bay Rivers District indoor track meet.

The Trojan boys scored 51 points while the Lady Trojans amassed 34 points during the Feb. 4 meet. Lafayette’s boys and Tabb’s girls claimed the district titles with 164.5 and 99 points, respectively.

Coy Robinson was the lone individual event winner for the Trojans, garnishing a mark of 21’4” in long jump. New Kent’s 4×400 relay team ran a time of 3:35.51, claiming the event. Both Robinson and the relay team automatically qualified for the VHSL Group AA state championships.
