Lady Trojans race past four district foes

Individual event wins from Adrienne Goodlet, Ashley Pierce, Caroline Meade, and Anna Mathis led the way as New Kent’s host Lady Trojans finished ahead of four Bay Rivers District foes in track on April 9.

Goodlet won the 100 meters (13.12), Pierce captured long jump (15-1), Meade prevailed in shot (27-2), and Mathis claimed discus (81-4) as New Kent piled up 86 points. Warhill ended in second with 79 followed by Lafayette and Grafton each with 72 and York with 41.

New Kent’s boys had no individual winners, but finished second with 70 points to powerful Lafayette’s 171. Warhill took third with 52 followed by Grafton (32) and York (29).
