Coles wins Atlantic 10 shot put title

Ryan Coles, a 2011 graduate of New Kent High School and senior at Virginia Commonwealth University, claimed the top spot in the men’s shot put competition in the Atlantic 10 Conference championships Feb. 21-22 in Rhode Island. Coles' heave of 56’3¾” launched him into the top spot. He also finished third in the weight throw with a toss of 54’3¾”. He is the son of Arthur and Tracie Coles of New Kent.
