Jefferson wins two events as Panthers finish second at home meet

Mason Jefferson won two events and joined in with teammates Marvin Brown, Jaquane Wyatt, and Kyle Jones as part of the 4×100 relay team as he helped lead Charles City to a second place finish during an Apr. 2 track meet.

Charles City scored 77 points, finishing behind Mathews’ 111.75 points and ahead of Rappahannock’s 33 and Richmond Christian’s 20.25.

Jefferson won the 100 and 200 meter dash with times of 11.83 and 23.68, respectively. He also helped contribute to the Panthers running 46.08 in the 4×100 meter relay. Wyatt and Jones were also individual event winners, with Wyatt capturing the 110 meter hurdles (19.99) and Jones winning the high jump (5’8”). Walter Gordon was the other event winner for the hosts, posting a time of 47.88 in the 300 meter hurdles.

Charles City’s Lady Panthers scored 21 points at the meet, claiming a third place finish. Mathews cruised to victory with 123.5 points, with Rappahannock placing second with 42.5 points and Richmond Christian rounding out the scoring with 15.
