NKYA basetball teams win tournament titles
Several NKYA baseball teams took home top billing in recent tournaments around the state. Above, NKYA 6U team won the District 3 Invitational hosted by Glen Lea. Team members are Damian Barnes, Lucas Figuly, Shawn Gammon, Kellen Goins, Brenden Hall, Bradley Hoge, Ethan Johnson, T.J. Priddy, Josiah Pulling, Jonah Sorrell, Trevor Spence, Van Walker, and A.J. Wilson. The team is managed by Jordan Spence and is assisted by Dean Gammon, Lange Hoge, and Brian Hall.
NKYA 7U team took home first place in the Fluvanna Invitational tournament. Team players are Brody Cash, Camden Fitchett, Kamryn Gary, Cameron Hackett, Cole Haden, Michael Hetzel, Grayson Hobson, Bryce Hochman, Phillip Hunt, Peyton Rochon, Will Ross, Drew Staskiel, Chase Wiles, and Blake Wood. The team is managed by Doug Cash with assistance from coaches Jonathan Hochman, Garrett Ross, and Chris Hobson.
NKYA 8U team claimed the gold in the District 1 tournament played in West Point. Members of the team are Lane Boyette, Henry Burrage, J.J. Carnohan, Evan Cloninger, Michael Collier, Kyle Diggs, Nile Gammon, Matthew Gentry, Hunter Jesse, C.W. Johnson, Julian LaPastora, Ty Staub, Tyler Warren, Payton Williamson, and Ryan Wright. Jonathan Jesse managed the team and was assisted by coaches Ed Diggs and Chuckie Johnson.
NKYA 12U team also won its age group in the District 1 tournament in West Point. Team players are Riley Baker, Benjy Boatwright, Jesse Cousins, Justis Crawley, Leighton Fessman, Jordan Hayes, Victor Johnson, Christopher Jones, Caleb Kowlessar, Gary Marx, Jacob Miller-Bopp, Zachary Seay, and Jack Swynford. The team is managed by Ben Boatwright and assisted by coaches Jimmy Seay and Keith Jones.
