New Kent High School's golf team celebrate receiving its second trophy within a week by claiming the Conference 25 title Monday afternoon.

New Kent High School’s golf team coached by Charles Davis claimed the Conference 25 championship in the match event played at Royal New Kent on Sept. 28. The Trojans posted a score of 313, easily outdistancing runner-up Warhill by 27 strokes.

Robb Kinder (76) finished in second place in the event, one stroke behind Alex Waltman of Colonial Heights. Parker Wallace (78) and Cole Baldwin (78) shared third place, while Bryce Paige’s score was good enough for fifth. Jackson Gray’s 87 and Ted Gentile’s 94 rounded out the scoring for New Kent.

The Trojans placed four members on the all-conference team. Kinder, Wallace, Baldwin, and Paige earned the distinguished honor as Conference 25 top golfers.

The Trojans move forward to regional competition on Oct. 1 in Front Royal at Shenandoah Valley.
