Christian tabbed interim head coach of Oklahoma City Blue

Jarrell Christian, a native of Quinton and 2004 graduate of New Kent High School, has been elevated to interim head coach of the Oklahoma City Blue in the National Basketball Developmental League (NBDL).

Christian, who is in his second year with the organization, had served as an assistant coach with the Blue, a subsidiary of the National Basketball Association’s (NBA) Oklahoma City Thunder. Christian was tabbed as the interim head coach after former head coach Mark Daigneault was promoted to serve as an assistant coach for the Thunder to fill a vacated role left by Maurice Cheeks who is recovering from surgery.

Christian will hold the position for the remainder of the 2015-16 season.
