NK pole vaulter Kowal signs with VMI

New Kent pole vaulter Griffin Kowal is flanked by his parents, Jackie and Cliff Kowal, and brother, Grant, as he signs a letter of intent to continue his track and field career next fall at Virginia Military Institute. Griffin is the defending state 3A indoor and outdoor champion with a personal best clearance of 15 feet, seven inches. He aims to break Virginia's overall high school record of 17-6. In college, he plans to major in physics.
