Mount St. Mary’s University head coach and New Kent native Jamion Christian led his team to a 77-62 win, clinching the Northeast Conference regular season championship Saturday afternoon. Picked to finish fifth in the conference, Christian orchestrated a 14-4 campaign to lead the Mountaineers to its first regular season championship since 1996 and guarantees a postseason trip for the school. Christian, in his fifth year at the helm, has led Mount St. Mary’s to the conference playoffs in each year of his tenure and will have homecourt advantage in this year’s edition in an attempt to earn a trip to the NCAA tournament.Andre' Jones photo
