Charles City boys fourth, girls fifth in Tidewater District meet

Charles City’s boys’ track and field team accumulated 59 points, good enough for a fourth-place finish during the May 4 Tidewater District home meet.

Panther senior Troy Crawley emerged as the lone event winner for the host school, claiming the boys’ 100-meter dash with a time of 11.63.

Middlesex boys’ won the meet with 170.5 points, with Mathews (110.5), and West Point (101) also finishing ahead of the Panthers. King William’s 29 points and King & Queen’s 20 points rounded up the scoring.

On the girls’ side, the two-girl team of Laina Brown and Aysia Wallace scored five points, good enough to secure fifth-place at the meet.

Middlesex girls’ team claimed the top spot with 146 points, followed by West Point’s 133, Mathews’ 117, and King William’s 48. King & Queen rounded out the scoring with three points.
