West Point’s Pointers scored within the first two minutes of the contest en route to a dozen goals in dismantling host Charles City 12-0 during the May 17 Senior Night clash.

Eight different Pointers found the back of the net, including two who accumulated hat tricks as the guests never looked back. Meanwhile, the Panthers only managed one shot on goal in the match.

“West Point’s a real good team,” said head coach Tom Holoman. “They used their speed and quickness and was able to push the ball down the field.”

But for now, Holoman will look to push along a core group up freshman and sophomores. Departing the team due to graduation are Kylee Brinkley and Brianna Wallace, both whom played in the first two years of the program’s existence. Also departing are John Bradby and goalkeeper Miles Ragin.

“I am losing a good group of kids,” the head coach continued. “They have done a remarkable job helping to launch this program and keep it moving forward.

“Now it will be up to this young core to step up,” Holoman said as he wrapped up his commented. “We have a lot of upside and a lot of potential and should do well in years to come.”

Charles City falls to 2-10 this season.
