Christian earns extension at Mount St. Mary’s to remain head men’s basketball coach
After leading his college alma mater to two NCAA Tournaments in five years, New Kent native and Mount St. Mary’s head men’s basketball coach Jamion Christian has accepted a contract extension to remain at the school.
Christian inked a long-term deal with the school, agreeing to a new deal that will see him coach into the 2026-27 season. His first extension was scheduled to end in 2018-19.
Christian accomplishments as a coach at Mount St. Mary’s include being named the Ben Jobe Award winner for 2016-17 (top minority coach in Division I basketball), two NCAA tournament appearances, two Northeast Conference tournament championships, one Northeast Conference regular season championship, and leading the team to its first NCAA win in over ten years.
