New Kent girls, boys second in Bay Rivers home meet
New Kent’s girls and boys’ cross-country team both finished second, respectively, during an Oct. 4 home meet.
New Kent girls’ finished behind Tabb’s Tigers who won the event. York completed the meet in third place while Lafayette ended in fourth.
Jackie Clardy-Joseph paced the Lady Trojans, finishing second overall with a time of 21:06. Magnolia Lang also squeaked into the top ten for New Kent, finishing the course in a time of 23:36.
On the boys’ side, Trojan runner Patrick Johnson finished as runner-up with a time of 17:11. Yuri Frazier finished just outside of the top ten, finishing in 11th place with a time of 18:26.
Lafayette’s boys dominated the meet, with New Kent edging Tabb out for third and York for fourth.
