New Kent’s Lady Trojans have dominated their competition all year, with Tabb accounting for their only two losses. That control continued Tuesday afternoon against an overmatched Jamestown Lady Eagles.

The hosting Lady Trojans cruised to a 10-0 victory over Jamestown to improved to 12-2 on the year.

New Kent led 1-0 when scoring began erupting in the bottom of the second. Amya Evans hit drove teammates Brylea Ricks and Kerstin Snyder across the plate. In the third frame, triples by Ricks and Grace Ellis helped to power a six-run inning. The game ended via the mercy rule in the top of the fifth.

Lady Trojan head coach Maria Bates provided thoughts on her team’s dominating victory.

“Things came together in that second and third inning for us,” she said. “Our bats came alive and we played great. Everything came together for us.”
