Providence Forge siblings qualify for high jump event in national track meets
Siblings Jayden and Lauren Curry, both of Providence Forge, qualified for the USA Track and Field (USATF) and Amateur Athletic Union (AAU) National Junior Olympic Track and Field Championships.
The siblings participate in the high jump competition in their respective age group. At the USATF regionals in Hampton, Jayden cleared a height of 4’5” to finished third in the boys’ 11-12 age group, while sister Lauren cleared 3’11” in the girls’ 9-10 age division to finish fourth. In the state competition, Lauren won the high jump event and Jayden finished third.
The duo will participate in the USATF national meet at North Carolina A&T University in Greensboro, North Carolina in late July before heading to the AAU National Meet at Drake University in Des Moines, IA in early August.
