Kinder leads New Kent to fourth straight 3A Regional golf championship
Led by Rob Kinder, New Kent’s golf team coasted to its fourth straight 3A Regional Golf Championships on Sept. 25 at Dogwood Trace Golf Course in Petersburg.
Kinder outclassed all of his competitors, emerging as the only golfer to shoot under par by notching a 67 (par 72). He finished seven strokes better than runner-up Jackson Mosely of Park View-South Hill.
As a team, the Trojans shot 312, finishing 24 strokes ahead of runner-up Park View. Charles Miles’ 81 placed him seventh overall, while teammates Jack Richards and Shawn Coons both shot 82, respectively finishing ninth and tenth. Kyle Peck and Clayton Evelyn’s 85 was good enough to 13th and 14th place at the competition. All six members of the Trojans’ golf team finished in the top 16 overall at the regional meet.
