New Kent High School’s cheerleading squad placed second at the Group 3A Region A championship meet Saturday afternoon inside its own gymnasium. With the runner-up trophy in hand, the team qualified for the Group 3A State Championship competition on Nov. 3 at the VCU Siegel Center in Richmond.
