Vaden places in jumps at Group 1A state track and field meet
Charles City’s Cameron Vaden placed on both the boys’ long and triple jump during Group 1A State Track and Field competition held on June 1 at East Rockingham High School.
Vaden leaped a career best 20’1¾” in the long jump at the meet, finishing in seventh place. He followed that performance up by placing sixth in the boys’ triple jump with a mark of 39’5¾.”
Vaden accounted for all five points for the boys’ team, as they finished in 31st.
For the Lady Panthers, Skye Bradby ran a time of 53.32, good enough to finish sixth in the girls’ 300-meter hurdles at the state meet. Also scoring for Charles City was Alexis Williams, who leaped 33’4” to finish in seventh place in the girls’ triple jump.
The Lady Panthers also scores five points, good enough for a 23rd place finish at the meet.
