Mueller, Mecongeli named to Class 3A all-state first teams

New Kent Lady Trojan softball outfielder McKenna Mueller and New Kent boys’ soccer midfielder Matteo Mecongeli were named to their respective Class 3A State first teams.

Mueller was the only freshman to be named to the Class 3A state softball first team. Teammates Gracie Ellis (pitcher) and Taylor Yates (second base) were recognized to the Class 3A state second team.

Mecongeli’s nomination was the top honor received by a Trojan soccer player at the state level. Teammates Spencer Gilland (forward) and Adam Caldwell (defender) were recognized as selections to Class 3A’s second team.
