Curry siblings qualify for AAU National Track and Field championships
New Kent sibling Jayden and Lauren Curry both qualified for the Amateur Athletic Union (AAU) National Junior Olympic Track and Field Championships at North Carolina A&T University in Greensboro, North Carolina, by placing in the regional championships this past weekend at Hampton University.
Jayden cleared a height of 5’0” to win the boys’ 13U age group, while sister won the girls’ 11U age division in the same event with a clearance of 4’0”. Jayden also placed fourth in the 1500-meter run (5:25), and Lauren placed sixth in the 800-meter run (2:54).
