Trio of Williams, Wallace, Bradby leads Charles City to sixth-place regional finish

The Charles City trio of Alexis Williams, Aysia Wallace, and Skye Bradby combined to score 34 points to power the Lady Panthers indoor track and field team to a sixth-place finish in the Group 1A/2A Region A meet held on Feb. 13 at the Arthur Ashe Center in Richmond.

Williams leaped 33’6¼” in the girls’ triple jump, finishing second in that event. She also placed third in the girls’ long jump with a distance of 15’10¼”. On the track, Williams placed fifth in the girls’ 300-meter dash (49.39) and sixth in the girls’ 55-meter dash (8.03).

Wallace earned a fifth-place finish in the girls’ long jump with a distance of 14’8”. She garnered sixth-place finishes in the girls’ 500-meter dash (1:35.46) and girls’ triple jump (28’8¼”). Bradby’s performance of 10.70 in the girls’ 55-meter hurdles was good enough for sixth.

Charles City’s boys’ team did not score at the event. Bruton’s boys’ and girls’ team won the regional meet, respectively.
