New Kent High wrestling captures Trojan Duals with sweep of opponents

New Kent High School’s Trojan Wrestling squad swept five opponents on their way to winning their annual Trojan Duals Saturday afternoon.

New Kent defeated Atlee (62-18), Hanover (71-6), Varina (72-12) and Orange (66-16) to set up a finals matchup against Landstown. The Trojans continued their success by defeating Landstown 48-33.

Undefeated wrestlers in the competition were Daniel Colgin at 113 pounds, Kyle Gibson at 120 pounds, Matthew Eberly at 126 pounds, Trace Ragland at 132 pounds, Patrick Jordon at 138 pounds, Evan Holloway at 145 pounds, Dom Baker at 170 pounds, and both Cole Townsend and Nathaniel Fly at 182 pounds.
