New Kent High School boys’ tennis picks up pair of wins

New Kent High School’s boys’ tennis teams picked up a pair of wins this week. They defeated Varina on Apr. 21 and topped Rappahannock on Apr. 22. New Kent’s record improves to 4-4 on the year after the two victories.

New Kent 6, Varina 3

Singles: Hanson (NK) def. Smith (V) 8-6; McCarther (V) def. Diggs (NK) 8-5; Alexander (NK) def. Peck (V) 8-6; Edwards (NK) def. Martin (V) 8-4; Krause (NK) def. Davidson (V) 8-3; Tamauyan (V) def. Evelyn (NK) 8-1.

Doubles: Hanson/Alexander (NK) def. McCarther/Peck (V) 8-6; Diggs/Krause (NK) def. Davidson/Tamauyan (V) 8-3; Smith/Martin (V) def. Edwards/Evelyn (NK) 8-4.
