Lamprecht finishes fourth in 3200-meter run for New Kent at state track meet

New Kent High School’s boys’ track and field team scored eight points to finish 28th in the Group 3A Outdoor State Track & Field Championships held June 3-4 at Liberty University in Lynchburg.

Isaac Lamprecht was the top finisher for New Kent, placing fourth in the boys’ 3200-meter run with a time of 9:47.74. Teammate Brandon Heffinger accounted for the other points for the Trojans, finishing sixth in the 400-meter dash with a time of 50.81.

On the girls’ side, New Kent Lady Trojans accumulated three points to finish 33rd in the state championship meet.

The 4×800 meter relay team of Madison Johnson, Courtney Carter, Gabrielle Butler, and Tabitha Gill ran a season best of 10:25.03, finishing sixth in the race and earning all the points for the Lady Trojans.

Heritage of Lynchburg girls’ team and Abingdon High School boys’ team won the meets, respectively.
