Lamprecht finishes as runner-up at Bay Rivers District championship cross-country meet

New Kent’s Isaac Lamprecht finished as runner-up in the Bay Rivers District Championship cross-country meet held Tuesday afternoon at Jamestown High School.

Lamprecht clocked a time of 15:54.66 to earn the silver, finishing behind Grafton’s Connor Linehan. Scorers for the Trojans were Will Ashley (22nd-17:50.70), Ryan Wright (35th-18:18.07), Luke Holloway (42nd-18:46.47), and Luis Macia (45th-18:54.56). Other participants were Logan Rooks (48th-19:08.68) and Brandon Crooms (19:35.63).

New Kent’s boys’ team finished in sixth place with a score of 146. Jamestown captured the boys’ title with a score of 53.

On the girls’ size, Madison Johnson earned a top ten finish to lead the Lady Trojans to an eighth finish at the district meet.

Johnson accumulated a time of 20:25.07 to finish eighth overall in the meet. Other contributing scorers for New Kent were Gabrielle Butler (36th-22:58.56), Campbell Proffitt (41st-24:14.00), Serra Swartout (54th- 26:09.74), and Lauren Walker (55th-26:23.58). One other participant, Delilah Doolittle, clocked in with a time of 29:56.10 (62nd).

New Kent’s Lady Trojans scored 183 points at the meet. Jamestown’s girls captured the district championship with a score of 43.
