New Kent’s Lamprecht finishes as runner-up at Group 3A state cross-country championships
New Kent High School’s Isaac Lamprecht captured the silver medal in the Group 3A State cross-country championships held at Green Hill Park Saturday afternoon. Lamprecht orchestrated a time of 15:42.83 to finished as runner-up in the event.
As a team, New Kent earned an 11th place finish at the championship competition. Other scorers were William Ashley (35th- 17:21.41), Luke Holloway (91st- 19:05.26), Ryan Wright (93rd- 19:11.26), and Brandon Crooms (95th- 19:23.34). Other participants for the Trojans were Logan Rooks (97th- 19:37.24) and Luis Macia Fernandez DeBabadilla (99th- 20:13.40.)
The Trojans scored 248 points in the meet. Abingdon High School emerged as the state champions with a total of 65 points.
On the girls’ side, two New Kent Lady Trojans competed as individuals in the state competition.
Madison Johnson earned a 36th place finish at the meet, posting a time of 20:52.92. Teammate Gabrielle Butler finished 78th with a pace of 23:10.98.
