Whitehead headlines postseason accolades for Charles City athletes

Several members of Charles City High School’s Fall sports teams were recognized with all-district accolades in the Tidewater District.

In football, Senior Mitchell Whitehead was selected as a First Team member at the position of defensive back. He also received the nod as a Second Team member at the position of wide receiver.

Two more Panther football team members were recognized on the all-district squad. Senior Randy Brown Jr. was selected as a defensive line specialist to the all-district second team, and classmate Rickie Wooten Jr. received the nod as an offensive line specialist on the second team.

In girls’ volleyball, one Charles City Lady Panther was selected to an all-district team. Senior Janiya Washington was voted to the second team as a defensive specialist.
