Trojan wrestling extinguishes competition in quad home meet

New Kent High School’s Wrestling Team cruised to a victory in a Jan. 3 quad home meet.

New Kent opened up defeating Bay Rivers District rival Jamestown 76-6. The Trojans followed that up with a win over the Patrick Henry (Ashland) Patriots 66-7 before closing the night with a 64-6 victory over the Powhatan Indians.

New Kent Head Coach Joe Salinetro talked about his team’s preparation for a major competition next week.

“The job is not done as we have two top teams coming up at the Virginia Duals next week,” he commented. “I am excited, and I feel like we have the guys to do this.”
