New Kent Gymnastics win home tri-meet competition

New Kent’s Ryan Griffith won two events while teammate Carrington Coyle captured another as New Kent’s Lady Trojans won a three-team competition on Jan. 18.
Griffith won the floor exercise with a score of 9.3, while also placing first in the uneven bars of 9.1. Coyle won the gold in the balance beam competition with a score of 9.35, with Griffith finishing in a close second with 9.25. Griffith finished as the best all-around performer with 36.65 points.
New Kent amassed 138.6 points to win the tri-meet, with Hanover placing second (134.8) and Mills Godwin finishing third (132.55).
