Johnson wins three, Braxton captures one to lead Lady Panthers to fifth-place finish

Charles City’s Derequa Johnson won three events while teammate Jaida Braxton claimed the title in another as the Charles City Lady Panthers placed fifth at their Apr. 18 home track meet.

Johnson earned victories in the 100-meter dash (13.41), 300-meter hurdles (50.85), and the triple jump (32’4½”). Braxton captured the 200-meter dash with a time of 27.99.

Charles City scored 65.5 points to finish behind Middlesex (135.5), Rappahannock (125), Lancaster (89), and Hampton Roads Academy (75) in the seven-team meet. Charles City’s boys’ team did not score at the competition.
