Steeplechase horse racing coming to Colonial Downs this Summer

Steeplechase horse racing will become a regular feature this Summer at Colonial Downs in New Kent.

Beginning July 11, races will be held every Thursday. Colonial Downs will offer wagering on the three jump races during Thursday steeplechase race cards.

“Steeplechases are incredibly exciting races that really highlight the athleticism and skill of equine athletes, jockeys, and trainers,” said Frank Hopf, Senior Director of Racing Operations for Colonial Downs. “We’re really excited to feature these unique races at the beginning of our Colonial Downs race weeks.”

Races are slated to be held at 11:45 a.m., 12:30 p.m., and 12:55 p.m. on race days. For more information, visit www.colonialdowns.com.
