New Kent High School’s 2026 Athletics Hall of Fame

Rusty Curle, a 10-time letterman and only coach in New Kent history to be named as a District Coach of the Year in three sports, receives his recognition trophy as part of the 2026 New Kent High School’s Hall of Fame Class.

Julianna Jones Paczewski is inducted as part of the seventh class of New Kent High School’s Hall of Fame. Paczewski earned accolades for her dominance in swimming and diving, including winning a state championship in the 100-meter freestyle in 2016.

Mike Faus, who coached for 20 years, was inducted for his dominance in leading New Kent High School’s wrestling program. Faus tenure helped establish the program, leading them to three state championships and several individual champions.

Martie Curtis was present as she was inducted the 2022 ceremony. Curtis was a letterman, accumulating 11 individual, 11 regional, and two state titles in three sports, and previously held the VHSL record for most rebounds in a season (411). Not pictured is New Kent Chronicle Editor Alan Chamberlain, who was inducted for more than 30 years of coverage of New Kent High School Athletics that began in 1979 and concluded in 2016.
