New Kent’s stellar start to the season continued in the opening round of their home holiday Hoopville Tournament. After only holding a two-point advantage heading into halftime, New Kent’s hot shooting emerged in the second half, resulting in the Trojans 94-76 victory over the visiting Thomas Jefferson Vikings. New Kent’s Ryan Griffith finished as the All-Around winner as New Kent’s Lady Trojans placed second at their home gymnastic meet at Virginia Elite Gymnastics Academy. Griffith finished first in the uneven bars (9.05), vault (9.35), balance beam (9.05), and floor exercise (9.275), scoring a total of 36.275 to finish as the top overall performer.
