New Kent’s Lady Trojans softball team saw their win streak snapped during Monday night’s road game at Hanover Lady Hawks. New Kent fell 4-1 in the non-district contest, falling to the undefeated team for a second consecutive time. The Lady Trojans’ blanked the visiting Bruton Lady Panthers 10-0, sweeping the regular season series. Charles City’s Derequa Johnson won three events while teammate Jaida Braxton claimed the title in another as the Charles City Lady Panthers placed fifth at their Apr. 18 home track meet. Johnson earned victories in the 100-meter dash (13.41), 300-meter hurdles (50.85), and the triple jump (32’4½”). Braxton captured the 200-meter dash with a time of 27.99. Charles City scored 65.5 points to finish behind Middlesex (135.5), Rappahannock (125), Lancaster (89), and Hampton Roads Academy (75) in the seven-team meet.
