In the battle of unbeatens, both the New Kent Trojans and the visiting Grafton Clippers had little trouble handling opponents. In the Dec. 13 contest, a late third quarter run paired with the ability to knock down three-pointers throughout the night were favorable for the visitors. New Kent High School’s wrestling team cruised to a sweep of opponents during the Dec. 6 home quad meet. New Kent defeated Bay Rivers District rival Warhill 72-12 for the first win. The team followed that up by topping Norfolk Academy 66-15, before concluding the competition with a 60-18 victory over Varina.
New Kent’s Lady Trojans early success has been the result of fast starts and pressure defense. New Kent’s Lady Trojans swim teamed opened with wins during a Nov. 28 meet at Hampton Aquaplex. The Lady Trojans earned a 58-29 win over Smithfield and a 52-37 victory over Poquoson.
