Dedicated to preserving the history of Charles City County

Charles City renown historian Judith Ledbetter (center) receives a plaque as part of her contributions to the growth and support of maintaining the county’s history during a Monday morning ceremony. Ledbetter was instrumental in maintaining the Charles City Local History Center at its old location at the Charles City Neighborhood Facility and now at its new location at the Charles City Library as the Richard M. Bowman Center for Local History. Ledbetter has worked on several projects that include the preservation of county documents and been instrumental in helping to get historical markers placed alongside highways through the county.
