Charles City Sheriff’s Office investigating shooting that leaves one man dead

Charles City Sheriff’s Office is seeking information related to a Mar. 20 death investigation.

According to a press release, Charles City Sheriff’s Office received a 9-1-1 call referencing shots fired near the 7600 block of Church Lane around 1 a.m. When deputies arrived, they found a male suffering from gunshot wounds. Upon a preliminary investigation, it was determined that the male was shot numerous times, succumbing to his injuries.

The name of the victim is being withheld as next of kin is being notified. Charles City Sheriff’s Office has said that the shooting was an isolated incident and there is no threat to the community.
