Woodrow C. Hockaday

Woodrow C. “Woody” Hockaday, 74, of Lanexa, Virginia, passed away on June 28, 2015.

Woody loved being outdoors and connecting to nature, whether he was hunting, fishing, or working in his garden.

He was preceded in death by his devoted wife of 37 years, Patricia Lee Hockaday.

He leaves behind to cherish his memory three children; Cheryl Hall of West Point, Bubba (Cindy) Hockaday of Williamsburg, and Christie (Jeff) Davis of Barhamsville; six grandchildren, Tiffany, Blair, Gregory, Jeffrey, Stephen, and Lee; four great-grandchildren, Kylee, Austin, Briana, and gabby; and a nephew, Johnny Hockaday.

A funeral service was held at 11 a.m. on Thursday, July 2, at Liberty Baptist Church, 15810 Liberty Road, Lanexa. Interment followed in the church ceremony. Family received friends on Wednesday, July 1, 6-9 p.m. at Vincent Funeral Home, 9923 Pocahontas trail, Providence Forge, Virginia.
