Charles City places third to close out track and field regular season meet

D’Angelo Smith won the boys’ triple jump competition as Charles City’s Panthers earned a third-place finish at the May 27 track meet at Middlesex High School. Smith leaped a distance of 41’0½” to win the event for the visitors.
Charles City accumulated 25 points for the bronze medal at the track meet. West Point won the gold with 93 points, with Middlesex taking silver with 72 points. King & Queen rounded out the scoring with 21 points.
On the girls’ side, lone Lady Panther Alexis Williams notched two wins to lead to a fourth-place finish. Williams garnered wins in the girls’ 100-meter dash (14.21) and the high jump (4’6”).
Middlesex won the girls’ competition with 76 points, followed by West Point (40), and King & Queen (33) respectively.
