Charles City racks up pair of third place finishes at home track meet

Charles City’s boys’ team finished in sixth place at their Apr. 27 home track and field meet that saw eight teams compete on their home track.

Charles City scored 13 points, led by Ashton English’s third place finish in the discus that saw him toss the implement 96’4”.

On the girls’ side, Charles City accumulated 14 points, good enough for a seventh-place finish.

Charles City’s top performer was Jaela Smith in the girls’ 400-meter dash. Her time of 1:11.35 was good enough for her to earn the bronze in the event.

Lancaster’s girls’ and boys’ team won the competition.
